Peoplebank Shares Expertise at ‘Innovating HK Global Talent Carnival’ Event

On 29-30 March, Peoplebank participated in the Innovating HK Global Talent Carnival, marking another progress in our commitment to bridging tech talent with innovative enterprises.

The event, which attracted next-generation tech professionals and entrepreneurs, provided an ideal platform for meaningful connections in Hong Kong's rapidly evolving tech landscape. In recognition of our continuous efforts in talent acquisition and development, we were honoured with the "Hong Kong Talent Policy Support Award."

During the event, our team shared actionable insights on Hong Kong’s evolving IT job market in the interview by Job Market. Here’s what we learned:

Our consultant, Judith Cheung, shared insights on the most in-demand roles and skills in today’s IT industry:

“The demand for innovative technology and IT security professionals has surged. Companies aren’t just looking for coders- they want professionals who can integrate their skillsets into real-world business challenges. AI, Machine Learning, Automation, Cybersecurity can be a strong suit. Moreover, adaptability and problem-solving set candidates apart.”

For fresh graduates and those new to the industry, Yi Lin, Peoplebank’s Marketing Executive, emphasized the importance of passion:

“Even without extensive experience, candidates can stand out by demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for the IT field. Whether through internships, certification programs, or self-study—like online courses or YouTube tutorials—what matters is articulating your dedication to the industry. Most importantly, emphasize your commitment to continuous learning. The tech landscape evolves rapidly, and employers value professionals who proactively upskill to stay ahead.”

The discussion also touched on evolving employer expectations:

"Today’s tech employers prioritize more than just technical proficiency,” Judith noted. “While strong programming fundamentals are essential, they also seek candidates with adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a curiosity for emerging technologies.”

In today’s dynamic IT landscape, innovation is transforming every industry. At Peoplebank, we are driven by a shared passion for discovering and unlocking the true potential of every candidate. We strive to nurture the next generation of tech leaders and supporting Hong Kong’s position as a leading innovation hub.

“The future belongs to those who learn, adapt, and innovate,” Judith concluded. “We’re here to guide that journey.”
