At RGF, we are committed to improving our employees’ wellbeing as a core part of our workplace culture. The initiatives of ‘R U OK? Day’ and ‘Me Day’ are just a few examples that reflects our dedication to ensuring our team members feel valued and supported in their personal and professional lives.
Originally founded in Australia, ‘R U OK? Day’ is a day of action held on the second Thursday of September every year. It serves as a reminder to check in with friends, family, and colleagues, fostering a supportive environment and open communication in our daily lives.
This year, in recognition of ‘R U OK? Day’, our Hong Kong and Singapore offices engaged in activities focused on promoting holistic wellbeing. In Hong Kong, we partnered with Wellsoon Chinese Medicine Clinic to conduct a workshop on the effects of mental stress on skin conditions and hair health. Complimentary one-on-one consultations with a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner were also offered to our staff for personalized health insights.
In our Singapore office, we collaborated with Great Eastern and Zen Physio & Health to host an informative webinar. Led by Dr. Calvin Koh, the session focused on practical stretching techniques and appropriate postures to alleviate common workplace discomforts, such as back pain, neck strain, etc. Additionally, Dr. Koh emphasized the significance of proactive healthcare screenings, raising employees’ awareness of regular health check-ups to identify potential issues.
Additionally, we continue to offer our staff a ‘Me Day’ each year. ‘Me Day’ is a special day-off for our employees to take time off to focus on their wellbeing. The sole purpose of this initiative is to encourage our team members to take a break from their busy work routines and prioritize their mental and physical health. By creating this intentional space for self-care, we’re investing in the long-term happiness, productivity, and fulfilment of our workforce. A healthy, balanced and engaged team is the foundation for our continued growth and success as an organization.
At RGF, we also offer free EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services in which all RGF team members and their immediate family members have access to counselling, coaching and support services. We also understand the importance of work-life balance and the need for flexibility, especially in our fast-paced industry. That’s why we offer our employees flexible scheduling and remote work arrangements.
While it is beneficial to have dedicated initiatives such as wellness days to promote employee wellbeing, true support requires a more comprehensive, continuous approach. Wellness resources and programs should be embedded throughout the employee experience and as an integral part of their daily work lives.
